CUBA'S TOP three priorities for the country's reconstruction are rural housing, keeping up food levels and healthcare, a result of the devastation the country suffered from the August and September hurricanes, said the Consul General of Cuba in Toronto, [Jorge Soberon].
"There are no Cuban children without food and shelter," said Soberon, pointing to the central government's longstanding system of keeping a reserve for disasters, and meticulous replenishment tradition."Our priority is to protect the people and find urgent solutions," said Soberon. He said Cuba has introduced new measures to monitor food production. Over a short term the State is giving land to thousands of Cubans to cultivate.
