She says, "When I left (Jamaica), I left in body but not in spirit. In spirit I was always in Jamaica."

Now that she is not working, "I do not have to run out in the cold, she said, adding, "I socialise more, too."

Not to be left out, says Mrs. [Beverley Powell], is the excellent quality and greater availability of food in the island. "The quality of food I get here...you get fresh fruits and fresh foods 12 months for the year. In England, only in special seasons can you get fresh fruits. In summer there is an abundance, in the winter, there are just preserved fruits."
