The president of P.A.C. E. (Canada). Lorna rung said that because of Dr. [Mavis Burke]'s perseverance and her dedication to early childhood education, P.A. C. E. touches the lives of more than 12,000 children annually in a positive way. The organisation started with 11 adopted schools and it has grown to nearly 250 schools across Jamaica. P.A.C. E. provides funding, back-toschool books and supplies (through Sangsters Book Store) as well as teacher scholarships. Tech de bus 2, a mobile computer lab which visits schools in and around Kingston teaching the children computer literacy, was delivered to Kingston last year.
