Last Thursday members of the Educational Priorities Panel, the New York State Conference of the NAACP and ASPIRA of New York in a "Countdown for Justice" press conference on the steps of City Hall to demand that Governor Pataki and the State Legislature release the funds to provide adequate education for New York City public school students.
Under the Bush Administration's No Child Let Behind law school districts across the country are mandated to hire new teachers, reduce class sizes, and provide specialized instruction in math and reading.
