In recent weeks, rumours have been spreading that Reggae Sumfest, which is usually held in Montego Bay, would not be staged this year due to a lack of sponsorship. However, when The Weekly Gleaner spoke to [Johnny Gourzong] of Summerfest Productions, organisers of the event, he confirmed that the festival would in fact be held.
Gourzong added: "With the challenges being faced this year, we're just asking the service providers of the festival which includes the hotels, airlines, productions and artistes, to recognise the challenge and to make as many concessions as possible.
