"Approximately 1,100 passengers have already left Jamaica on chartered and regular commercially scheduled carriers," said David Shield, deputy director of marketing at the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB). "An additional 800 passengers are expected to leave the island during the course of the day and this will bring the number up to 1,900. The additional passengers, it is anticipated, will leave tomorrow (today)."
