And clearly this was evident in the banquet hall filled with colleagues, friends and well wishers of Native Indian, African, East Indian, Chinese and mixed race descent.

The High Commissioner of Guyana to Canada, H. E. Rajnarine Singh reminisced on his first meeting Doobay back in Guyana in 1996. "He is a man with a vision. He saw that the Diaspora could make a vast contribution to the advancement of Guyana," said Singh, who also announced that he will return to Guyana when his post will as high commissioner will end this year.
