The Transatlantic Trade in Africans, the Slave Trade, or the Triangular Trade was abolished for the British and their possessions on March 25,1807 by Queen Victoria, lan [Ian Forrest] told The Weekly Gleaner, "We want, as Caribbean People in the Diaspora, to have one of our brightest scholars share with us what the legacy of that trade is all these years later." He was also concerned that, though England was observing this anniversary and, in someway, seeking atonement for what was done to a people and their continent, there seem not to be a similar response to the event here in the United States.
